1. MODUS CMS Overview
1.1. What is Modus?
Modus is the content management system (CMS) for your website. It is a web application for allowing you to easily change and update the content of your website.

If you are a MAC user you may need to download:

2. How to get started - logging into Modus
2.1. How do I log on?
To access the password-protected section of you website and begin editing content, simply go to http://www.yourdomain.com/logon. Substitute yourdomain.com with the name of your website. By default, "admin" is the username and Praxis will provide you with the password (this password can be changed; see "Users" under "Administration" below.)
2.2. What should I see?
On the left side of the page there should be at least 3 main groups, and some people will have 4. Each user should have a "Management", "Administration", and "Support" header and some users will have an "Online Store" header. Each of these headers should have several links under them that are directed toward different parts of the website you can control. Each of those links is called a "module".

3. Modules - how Modus works
3.1. What "modules" are
The different features on a page are controled by "modules". For example, there is one module that allows you to edit the main content of a page; another module lets you insert images; yet another module can be used to keep a list of employees. Each page on your site can be customized via the appropriate module.
3.2. How modules are displayed in Modus
All of the modules are categorized according to function. Most of the modules are listed under the "Management" header on the left-hand side. If there is an online store, there will be an "Online Store" header with a group of modules. There is an "Administration" header that allows you to make general changes to your site, and the "Support" heading links to the Modus documentation pages (this page.)
3.3. How many modules should there be?
Different websites will have different modules installed, depending on the website. This guide will cover all of the available modules, but it is not expected that any user use all of the available modules.

4. Management
4.1. Content
This module is used to edit the main text of most pages. Pages will be grouped in sections. To edit any page, first click on the name of that section of your website. The section names are typically indicative of their function on the website. Once you click on a section you should see one (or more) individual pages. Find the page that you want to edit and click the "Edit" button next to it to change its content. Once you finish, click "Save Changes" and your website will be updated immediately.
4.2. Gallery
This module is used to add/remove pictures from your online gallery. This section works similarly to the "content" module, but the purpose is to add an image with some descriptive text. To upload an image to the website, click the "Browse" button next to "Image", locate the image, and click "Save Changes"
4.3. Forms
This module is used to manage any forms on your page for user input. You may create a new form or edit an existing one. It is more likely that you will modify an existing form rather than creating a new one - the Praxis design team would help you if you wanted to create an entirely new form.

To edit any form field, click the "edit" button next to the field you want to change. The forms page itself has instructions on manipulating fields.

The "size/cols" field applies only to text fields and text boxes. This controls the width of the box. "Rows" only applies to a text box, and it allows you to specify the height of the box.

For clarification, a "Text field" is a one-line box that allows a user to enter text. A "Text box" lets a user enter multiple lines of text. Text fields are best used for information like email addresses, company titles, phone no., name, etc. Text boxes are best for descriptions and longer comments.
4.4. Links
This module is used to update the links page of your website. Under each "section" you may add and delete individual links to any web page you want. For example, a web design company might have links to all of the websites it has created.
4.5. Images
Module allows you to upload images for use on your website.
4.6. Staff
Add, delete, and modify members to be displayed on the "Staff" page of your website.
4.7. Frequently Asked Question (FAQ)
Allows you to update/modify the FAQ page of your website. Each "section" is a main category of questions. Under each category, you can add, delete, and modify individual questions and answers.
4.8. Downloads
This module allows you to manage files that the user can download. These can be images, PDF (or other type) newsletters, applications for the user, program files, etc.
4.9. News
This module allows you to add news items (with calendar dates) for the news/current events section of your website.

5.2. Site Settings
This module allows you to change general options for your website.
5.3. Stats
View statistics about your website (number of people who have visited, what web browers they use, etc.)
